Short Term Action items (six months to one year)

Analysis

  • Examine current marketing inventory 
  • Conduct an attitudinal study

Implementation

  • Increase programming of public spaces/events 
  • Encourage cross promotion of events/venues 
  • Determine how to effectively communicate information on large projects to manage expectations 
  • Market/Promote Downtown successes over the last ten years

Medium Term Action items (one to three years)

Policy

  • Determine how to effect sea change of media reporting

Implementation

  • Institute training/capacity building for local leaders to better handle the media 
  • Organize big spenders to influence perception/spin in media 
  • Develop an Image Campaign 
  • Convene groups that market Downtown 
  • Organize them to approach businesses, foundations and others for donations 
  • Create an organization of organizations to design and implement the campaign 
  • Focus on local audience, Downtown users, children and others 
  • Themes include, Snow, We Love It, Heritage, Buildings, Nothing Happens Here

Long Term Action items (three to five years)

Analysis

  • Conduct Follow up Attitudinal Study

Implementation

  • Promote the success of the Strategic Plan (A cleaner, greener Downtown!)
